Palmier Pro alternative for Windows and Linux
Palmier Pro runs on macOS only, and only on recent Apple Silicon Macs — it requires
macOS 26 Tahoe and does not support Intel. Across 85 public releases it has shipped
exactly one binary each time, PalmierPro.dmg; no Windows or Linux build has
ever been published. ArtDaddy is a comparable AI video editor with native Windows, macOS
and Linux builds, released under GPL-3.0.

Where the tool sets differ
Both expose their editor to an agent as a set of tools — 55 in ArtDaddy, 47 in Palmier Pro — but they are not the same 55 and 47.
Palmier Pro has, ArtDaddy does not
Silence removal, filler-word removal, beat detection, multicam (angle sync and switching), clip-media swapping, audio denoise, media upscaling and timeline markers.
ArtDaddy has, Palmier Pro does not
Asking questions about footage and finding moments in it by description, web and YouTube search, downloading a source video, web page capture, colour inspection, image and music generation, and a raw ffmpeg escape hatch.
The platform difference, in their own release history
Palmier Pro's public releases are listed on GitHub. Every release from v0.1.0 in April
2026 to v0.9.0 in September 2026 carries one asset, PalmierPro.dmg. It
requires macOS 26 Tahoe and Apple Silicon, so it excludes every Intel Mac as well as
every PC.
ArtDaddy's releases carry four assets: a Windows installer, a macOS disk image for Apple Silicon, and a Linux AppImage and .deb. The macOS build runs on macOS 11 or later, so it does not require the current release of the operating system.
Honest limits on our side
- No Intel Mac build and no Linux ARM build.
- The macOS build is not notarised yet — right-click, choose Open, confirm.
- The Windows installer is not EV-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run.
- Linux is a preview, built against Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 12.
- Auto-update currently ships on Windows; macOS and Linux update manually for now.
