AI video editor for Windows

ArtDaddy is a free, open-source AI video editor that runs natively on Windows 10 and 11. It has a real multi-track timeline, your footage never leaves your machine, and any agent that speaks MCP — Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Cursor — can drive it.

Why this one runs on Windows when the others don't

Almost every agentic video editor released in 2026 ships macOS-only. Palmier Pro has published 85 releases and every one of them is a single .dmg. Diffusion Studio is macOS arm64. Tools built as Claude Code skills need a terminal, a Python environment and a paid Claude subscription before they do anything at all.

ArtDaddy is a desktop application. You install it, sign in, drop footage in and type a sentence. There is nothing else to set up.

What you get

A real timeline, not a template

Multi-track editing, trimming, splitting, ripple delete, transitions, keyframed motion and scale, colour grading, captions and an ffmpeg export. It is a complete non-linear editor even if you never use the AI.

The agent's work is ordinary edits

Everything the agent does lands on the timeline as a normal edit you can grab and change. You share one undo history with it, so Ctrl+Z works across both of you and the agent carries on from whatever you just changed.

Your footage stays put

Media is referenced where it already sits on disk. Export runs through a bundled ffmpeg and transcription runs locally with Whisper. The app is open source, so "nothing is uploaded" is something you can check rather than take on trust.

Bring your own agent

A local MCP server exposes the editor to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, VS Code and Cursor. The agent edits the project already open in front of you, not a copy.
